Taggerty Pioneer Settlement is situated in a location of outstanding natural beauty at the foot of the stunning Mount Cathedral Ranges in the High Country of Victoria just 1.5 hours from Melbourne. The settlement consists of a visible history of the people who have made this place unique and special.
Situated on 80 acres of land that ranges from pastures to regenerating natural bush vegetation, Taggerty Pioneer Settlement also has a range of buildings that offer accommadation at all levels from tenting to B&B, Bunkhouse and Self-Contained.
Also residing on the property is a range of farm animals and also the very real chance of seeing Wombats, Echidnas, Kangaroos and Wallabies in the wild. Depending on the season there is also the possibilty of enjoying produce from the Organic Vegetable Garden that is operated by volunteers who produce delicious results.
 You will observe the history of the place in the form of a variety of buildings that reflect the projects undertaken by young people who have come to the place over the years to join in the lifestyle and learn some old skills passed down from the pioneers. These efforts contribute much the character of the place and the concept for all of this was devised by Bronwyn Rayner who commenced the Settlement 30 years ago.
