Bushkids

Taggerty Pioneer Settlement are privileged to host, within the property, the organisation called Bushkids. This “not-for-profit” group exists to provide support for groups of young people who access the property for various reasons.

The Settlement hosts School, and other young peoples camps (scouts etc). Young people often come to the place accompanied by parents and/or carers for time out and recreation.

The group of young people who are of special interest to Bushkids are the kids coming from a disadvantaged situation and often live in specialised protective accommodation.

Over many years these kids have come and experienced an environment radically different to their own life experience. In time it is planned to house on a more long term basis, several of these young people in a programmed environment which is intended to provide a wide range of independent living skills.
